Morterra Alpha 1.6 and the bow hunting video
In June 2016 we released Alpha 1.6 of Morterra, then a 1 MB Java download, along with a video of bow hunting.
Morterra Alpha 1.6 came out on June 13, 2016, three days after Alpha 1.5. Back then the survival sandbox MMORPG was a 1 MB Java client that needed no registration. Alpha 1.6 was a bug fix release. Among other fixes, the number keys above the letters on the keyboard now worked when creating keys and locks.
The bow hunting video
We released a bow hunting video alongside the client. It shows the adventure and survival side of Morterra, where a player wanders the map to find and kill animals for food. Of all the adventure in the game, we thought chasing food was one of the most exciting and rewarding parts.

- A browser-based client
- A 3D version
- Voice chat
The browser client arrived in November 2017, and the 3D version and voice chat both came in 2019.
