Horses, hunting and mining in Morterra's 2016 alpha

In June 2016 we released a time-lapse video of Morterra showing horseback riding, mining and hunting in the Java alpha.

On June 9, 2016 we released another time-lapse video of Morterra, this one showing horseback riding, mining and hunting. Morterra was then an online survival game set at the dawn of man, a 1 MB Java download with no registration. We wanted the video to show the sense of adventure in the game and the way its map regenerates.

The game in 2016

You woke up with absolutely nothing and had to find food, water and protection from other players. You needed tools to build a base, armor to defend against attacks and weapons to fight back. Eventually you grew tired and had to sleep, and a sleeping player could still be attacked, so you had to build enough protection to survive the night.

The earlier time-lapse, from June 7, showed a player building a base.
