Explosive raiding comes to Morterra: bombs and dynamite

In November 2019 Morterra added explosive raiding. Players gather sulfur, make gunpowder or nitroglycerin, and craft bombs and dynamite on an alchemy table to break into other players' bases.

Explosive raiding arrived in Morterra on November 25, 2019. To raid with explosives in the browser survival MMO, players gather sulfur, craft it into gunpowder or nitroglycerin, and make bombs or dynamite on an alchemy table. Raiding with explosives had been on our long-term list in October 2019, and it shipped the next month.

We posted a short video of dynamite in use. The best use is to place dynamite close to an enemy's base. The explosion blows open the side of the base, and you can walk in and take the loot.

Other changes

  • A day and night cycle
  • New sprite graphics for items
  • Shadows
  • A bigger map
  • Kilns, for crafting glass, clay items and charcoal
  • The alchemy table, for crafting explosives

Fixes

  • A fix for the "No socket connection" error
  • Working Help and About pages
  • Adjusted durability for logs
  • A fix for foundries decaying
  • A fix for viewing other players' foundries

In April 2020 we rebalanced the explosives: dynamite got 1,000 damage in a small radius and bombs 500 in a large one.
